Interesting..... there is so much talk about poverty in Gaza and in all the television footage, I haven't seen any. They don't look under nourished or begging for food. What I do see is a lot of poverty in Indonesia. Maybe we should not believe everything we are told.

Dino falied to mention that the floatilla also included an Israeli parliamentarian, European Union legislators, a Noble Prize winner, international journalists and a host of well-established high profile humanitarian activists and aid agencies.... hardly supporters of a 'radical sheik'. The point of the floatilla was obvious and unambiguous, it was an act of civil disobedience to highlight the impact of the embargo placed on the citizens of Gaza by Israel. The supposed 'truth' of Dino's posting is simply a reiteration of the Israeli governments disinformation. Like most ideologues they insist their rhetoric is 'objective'. 'Pro' or 'anti' Israeli is a false dichotomy created by ideologues and fanatics on both sides to protect themselves from objective facts. What is an objective fact in this case is that the raid was conducted in international waters, so it was illegal. No interpretation etc needed, its written in international law, plain and simple.

What's not being reported by this paper and others with clear anti-Israel agendas is that this so-called "humanitarian" flotilla was organized by a banned terror/jihadi organization -- the IHH.

What is the IHH?

Well it's funded by a radical Sheik who says suicide bombings against Israelis are good, even women and children. The IHH has been banned by the U.S. and Israel, among others, for its close ties to Al-Qaeda and the global jihad, both in terms of direct funding and providing personnel and materiel.

The "activists" on the flotilla knew that Israel was never going to allow the IHH to bring in its people or materiel, so what was the point? And why were Indonesians from obscure "humanitarian" organizations onboard? Simple answer: so the anti-Israel media would make a fuss.

JG and others took the bait and got duped hook, line, sinker. Fair play to the JG if they just came right out and stated, 'we have an anti-Israel editorial policy and we will not report accurately on Israel, only things that put it in a bad light.' That's any private publication's right, but by actively subverting the truth without disclosure of your avowed bias, you lose credibility.

One Indonesian was injured and another 11 taken into custody during the deadly raid by Israeli forces on a Gaza aid ship on Monday morning, the Indonesian government said on Tuesday.

Dino Patti Djalal, presidential spokesperson for international relations, said the Israeli government was “refusing to allow access to information” regarding the condition or the identity of the injured person, nor of the 11 in detention.

Speaking during a news conference in Jakarta, Dino said the Indonesian ambassador to Jordan, Zainul Bahar, had said that the injured Indonesian was being treated at the London Hospital in Haifa, northern Israel.

He said the 11 citizens were under military guard at a civilian detention facility in Israel. “We heard that they also have been interrogated.”

It is understood the citizens were aboard the ill-fated Mavi Marmara.

Amirul Iman, operational director of Indonesian humanitarian group Sahabat Al-Aqsha, whose members were aboard the ship, told VIVAnews that 19 people were killed and more than 50 injured during the Israeli attack.

He told VIVAnews, however, that no Indonesians were among the injured.

The Indonesians on board the vessel were humanitarian workers, including from Sahabat Al-Aqsha, the Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C), the Indonesian Committee for Solidarity With Palestine (KISPA) and a journalist.

Mavi Marmara was leading a convoy of cargo and passenger ships dubbed the Freedom Flotilla, which was attempting to ferry relief supplies to poverty-stricken Gaza City in the Palestinian territories. Hundreds of Pro-Palestine activists were also on board.

Dino said the government was still attempting to verify the information provided by Zainul, though Indonesia has no diplomatic relationship with Israel.

The government would dispatch a team to Ramallah, a Palestinian city on the West Bank, to investigate the attack and the welfare of the Indonesians, he said.

“The Indonesian government has requested and called for Israel to free the volunteers and ships that have been seized,” Dino said. “With the support of our government at the United Nations Human Rights Council, the council has agreed to conduct an urgent debate regarding the Israeli attack on the ship.”

He added that the motion was also supported by the Organization of the Islamic Conference and Egypt.

The United Nations Security Council has condemned the attack and demanded a thorough and transparent investigation.
