If he goes free there really should be a rally to free Ariel !! this is such hypocritical double standard execution of the law that hopefully it will move the masses to action. FREE ARIEL !!

So, using the 'our politicians are only human' excuse that makes this cynical hypocrisy OK. Let me remind the ideological religious hypocrite Surahman, that several people are languishing in prison for alleged pornographic law related misdemeanours.

If Arifinto is in any way allowed to go scot-free, then your party's stance on morality, already a sick joke, will plummet, and yours will not be a happy fate.

There should be no place for self-righteous cronyism, one law for the uber-rich politicians, and another for the rest.

If you are satisfied with that, you have failed.

Justice for you guys is like a supermarket product. You can buy it if you have the cash.

The excuses your religion and so-called piety allows is truly a wonderful shield against the seriousness of the situation. Unfortunately other people see that reality, and know better.

In response to photographs of Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) lawmaker Arifinto watching porn during a House plenary session, the PKS says its politicians are only human.

“PKS is a community of mere mortals,” said Surahman, the head of the party's sharia board, as quoted by news portal Detik.com.

“We're only human, not angels. What can happen to mere mortals can also happen to us.”

Arifinto previously said that he did not deliberately watch porn, claiming he was unaware an e-mailed link he opened on Thursday at the House was a pathway to pornographic images.

In a press conference on Friday afternoon after the newspaper Media Indonesia posted the photographs on its Web site, Arifinto explained that he was listening to the plenary’s closing speech when his tablet PC sounded, indicating a new e-mail had just arrived.

The lawmaker said he could not remember the subject line of the e-mail. He opened the e-mail, found a link and clicked it.

The party's sharia board said it would immediately summon Arifinto to clarify the incident.

If Arifinto was proven guilty of intentionally watching porn, the party would not protect him.

“We will do cross checking to find out what happened, but it's obvious that we won't protect those who are guilty,” he said.
