Man is the only species capable of protecting all other living things and the very Planet itself. If there is a God, I believe this would have been his one and only reason for creating man. This was a huge mistake on Gods part. Turns out we are the only species that does harm to all others, and to the Planet.

For those who do believe in a God, be worried, be very worried. Man is not required in this World, and if he were gone tomorrow, things would only get better.

Overpopulation, that's the issue. Indo should come with a retirement plan then maybe people will stop doing kids after kids.

10 more years and this beautiful creature will be extinct

Well put Padt,

It is that deadly combination of insatiable greed and under educated ignorance that poses a very real threat to the environment.

Who cares about the forests and the wildlife and people they support ? (Not to mention the oxygen they make and carbon they store) As long as the stocks in palm oil are up, we'll keep cutting 'em down !

Can't have a great cat standing in the way of my 84 inch TV , Audi or condo in Singapore can we ?

padt

Sometimes I wonder why the locals think like this in such a beautiful country. It just upsets me.

Padt, You hit the nail on the nail and the competition for cash gain is due to over population. Its time all were castrated. Many think this world is for us humans but its not if we abuse it and we shall all pay with plagues, disease, starvation and so on...maybe ww3 is best for the planet.

An endangered Sumatran tiger that was rescued from a wire trap in a protected Indonesian jungle has died from its injuries, a conservation official said on Sunday.

The 5-year-old male tiger was flown from Bengkulu province in Sumatra to Jakarta for surgery after it was discovered on Monday suffering nine spear wounds, provincial conservancy agency chief Amon Zamora told AFP.

“It died from its injuries on Saturday. Veterinary surgeons found a spear wound that pierced it from the back to the chest, which proved to be fatal,” he said.

“The tiger was also shot with an air rifle. Pellets were found in its eyes,” Zamora said, adding that authorities were hunting for those behind the attack.

The tiger was found in Bengkulu, entangled in a wire trap attached to a tree branch.

Officials said the trap was likely set by poachers looking to sell the rare animal’s body parts on the black market.

The conservation agency found several similar traps in the province last year and was helping police track down a suspected group of poachers.

There are fewer than 400 Sumatran tigers left and environmental activists say the animals are increasingly coming into conflict with people as their natural habitat is rapidly deforested.
