Searchers discovered the wing of a Trike PKS 135 micro light-plane near Cileuleu village, Pamulihan subdistrict, Garut, West Java, on Wednesday.
The aircraft, owned by the Indonesia Aerosport Federation (FASI), disappeared with its two occupants in West Java on Sunday.
On Tuesday, a farmer reported that he saw a piece of white fabric hanging on a tree near Ciangkrong village, Cileuleu.
The fabric was believed to be the pilot’s parachute and centered search and rescue operations on the area.
Pamulihan Police Chief Adjutant Comr. Haswendi told Metro TV that the search would continue on Wednesday. Teams would sweep the area between Mounth Jampang and Mount Arjuna in Garut.
The search team comprises 150 members of the police, military and the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).
The micro-light, piloted by Noto Cipto Nartomo and Panji Goenawan, went missing flying from Pangandaran and Bandung.
Noto and Panji are members of FASI. Noto carried his cellphone during the flight and his cellular signal was last detected in Garut.
