Shocking that a Muslim that prays to Allah to be as repentant as our father Adam, as merciful as our prophet Christ Jesus and as well mannered as our prophet Mohammad can be as sinful as disbeliever.

The problem is that the Indonesian Government should ban it for good the exportation of unskilled, undereducated and poor people to work as domestics whether in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia,Singapore, Taiwan and Korea for reason of revenue generating heroes since most of them bound to be abused and exploited due to cultural differences and despite the national resources wealth yet the government failed to create employment for its population.

@jetset24 - I think rather that there's a goblin in JG web - as I already mentioned before your post, I did NOT post that comment from 10:03am! And YES, whoever wrote it, he's generalizing it a bit much, for my taste too!

Should the employer be judged under the infamous Islamic Shariah law; Would an eye for an eye apply for the abuses on another human being?? If so then apply it.

@ROLAND...All Muslims?? Aren't you generalizing the issue a bit??

Bottom line religion no matter what cannot be compatible with conservative societies who are still in limbo with their past...Today we are in the 21st century.

Hmm, I think now I am suffering under amnesia (or someone is using my credentials) as I really do not remember to have posted comment below from 10:03am Nov 27

Jakarta. The lawyer of abused Indonesian maid Sumiati Binti Salan Mustafa in Saudi Arabia assured Linda Gumelar, Indonesian state minister for Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, that justice will be served in her case.

The Saudi Gazette reported on Friday that lawyer Saud Al-Hujaili spoke to Linda in Madina on Thursday, where she headed a 12-member delegation that visited Sumiati at the King Fahd Hospital.

Al Hujaili told Linda that the case may take anywhere from between four to 12 months, depending on how things progress in court.

Sumiati, 23, suffered horrible abuse allegedly at the hands of her employers over a period of three months.

The Saudi Gazette said the Saudi Investigation and Prosecution Bureau (IPB) had formally charged the employer, who was not identified, and sent her to the General Prison in Medina.

“Her body was burned on many places, both legs were almost motionless, some parts of her skin on her head were removed and there were marks of old wounds on her body including skin loss on her lips and head, a fractured middle finger and a cut near an eye,” according to the report.

Al-Hujaili added that the employers will not escape from justice according to the Islamic Shariah rules and that Sumiati will get her full rights. Her employers have been taken into custody and have undergone questioning.

A delegation from the Human Rights Commission also visited Sumiati at the hospital, where they were briefed on the maid's condition.
