Indonesia's enemies are within the country. The Indonesian people are their own worse enemy. You have only yourself to blame for the endemic graft and corruption that is part of your culture. Who does not cheat? Who is not corrupt? Who is not a liar? If SBY does not have the courage to make a difference in the next few years you are doomed. Forget about the forged economic reports and blaming foreigners. Your time will come.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in his inauguration speech said his 5-year plan for Indonesia would focus on prosperity, democracy and justice. He said Indonesia could continue growing in the midst of a global economic crisis without abandoning good governance and the fight against corruption.

Yudhoyono also highlighted the numerous foreign representatives in the audience as a sign of Indonesia's positive position in the world, saying the nation had "a million friends and zero enemies."

"The presence of dignitaries in the inauguration is a source of goodwill and respect," he said. "Indonesia is facing a strategic environment where no country perceives Indonesia as an enemy and there is no country which Indonesia considers an enemy."

Yudhoyono promised to keep Indonesia "on the front line in the efforts to save the earth from climate change," and to fight to reach the UN's Millennium Development Goals.

"Regionally, Indonesia with other ASEAN countries are working to make Southeast Asia a peaceful, prosperous and dynamic region," the President summarized.
