A district in East Java has added its name to the growing list of cities or areas in Indonesia that have banned Ariel, Luna Maya and Cut Tari in the wake of the Peterporn sex tape scandal.

Just a day after Bandung major announced that the Peterpan frontman and girlfriend Luna Maya, as well as Cut Tari would be banned from performing in the West Java capital, the head of Mojokerto said it was introducing a similar ruling.

“Any events held in Mojokerto featuring Ariel, Luna or Cut Tari will be banned,” Abdul Ghani Suhartono told SCTV.

The move is yet another blow for the celebrities, who have also been stripped of their roles as brand ambassadors for various products.

“The ban shocks all of us, it's human,” a lawyer for Ariel and Luna, Afrian Bondjol, told Vivanews.

Afrian regretted the boycott and called it “unfair.”

“It means they have decided that my clients are guilty. Officials should understand the law better and must uphold the assumption of innocence [principal],” he said, adding that both his clients took the news well given the circumstances.

“They are in a good condition but they are utterly shocked. They had no idea people would be so mean to them,” he said.
