An elderly Singaporean man is broke and sleeping in the streets after falling for an Indonesian woman less than half his age who ran off with S$200,000 (RP 1.1 billion) , it was reported on Thursday.
AsiaOne reported that Jacky Yan, 68, a former security guard, met and fell in love with the attractive girl, 28, in a bar in Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra.
Yan told the news portal that he sold his apartment and gave the money to the girl to purchase a house, car and start a business.
“However, the woman sold everything within six months and disappeared,” it reported.
Jacky was forced to return to Singapore, where he lives on the streets.
Despite a six-month search, he has been unable to find his wife.
