366422well another fugitive with a lot of money in his hands.truly indonesian.
I bet that the revelations of this fellow are just the tip of an iceberg.
If one would start comparing accumulated wealth versus salaries of former colleagues of this guy, political figures and government officials in general, the results would raise more than just eyebrows with the majority of them! I am very confident that I am right.

Gayus Tambunan’s life story shows a rise from rags to riches. At age 30, the former tax official already owned luxury cars and an upscale home in Jakarta.
Gayus did not come from a wealthy background. According to Tempo magazine, his parents’ former house in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta was humble. A neighbor said Gayus and his family lived there for decades.
In 2004, Gayus married Meliana Anggraeni and moved out of the family home. They bought a house in upscale Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. Gayus’ new house was worth Rp 4 billion rupiah ($440,000) according to VIVAnews.
It is unclear how a bureaucrat making only some Rp 157 million (about $17,000) yearly could afford the high-end property as well as luxury cars reportedly including a BMW, Toyota Alphard and Ford Everest. The money did not come from Gayus’ wife, who was a staff member at the Jakarta Provincial Council (DPRD).
Gayus had already been cleared on tax embezzlement and money-laundering charges when former National Police chief detective Susno Duadji put his name in headlines earlier this month. Susno accused Gayus of bribing high-ranking police officials to drop Gayus’ investigation. The former tax official and his wife are believed to have fled to Singapore.
