Yudhoyono and Kalla to Witness Gus Dur's Daughter's Wedding
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Jusuf Kalla will be the guests of honor and witnesses for the marriage of Yenny Wahid, the daughter of former president Abdurrahman Wahid, to Dhohir Farisi on Thursday afternoon.
The exchange of vows will take place at Al Munnawwarah mosque in Ciganjur, South Jakarta, close to the bride’s residence. Flower bouquets lined the front of the house on Thursday morning, including one from President Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono.
During the wedding ceremony, journalists will not be allowed inside, but the wedding organizer has prepared a special media room complete with a huge TV screen displaying the nuptials.
The bride and groom will hold a press conference before their reception at Sampoerna Strategic Square in Central Jakarta.
Yenny is the second daughter of the former president, who is better known as Gus Dur.
