Singapore. Two young women were found dead yesterday in the bathroom of a chalet at the Aloha Changi resort.

Paramedics pronounced Teo Wan Si, 20, and Chua Hui Hsien, 24, dead at about 2 a.m.

The police found their bodies after searching the resort, following a missing persons report to the police for the younger woman on Wednesday.

Chinese language evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported that the chalet was locked from the inside when the police arrived.

The resort is in a quiet area off Netheravon Road near Changi Village.

Nur Syahira Syera, 23, a cashier at The Coastal Settlement restaurant, told The Straits Times yesterday that a couple had arrived on Wednesday night and asked her if she had seen their daughter.

“They asked if any young girls had bought alcohol from the restaurant. I told them there were no takeaways for alcohol that night,” she said.

“The woman looked worried when she was talking to me.”

Chua’s wake was held at Jurong East last night, and family members declined to be interviewed.

The police have classified the case as unnatural death and are investigating.
