Police have arrested five more of the 12 detainees who broke out of a Central Jakarta holding cell on Tuesday, bringing to nine the number recaptured.

Sr. Comr. Rikwanto, a Jakarta Police spokesman, said the five latest arrests were made on Thursday at various locations in West Java and Banten.

A day earlier, police captured two of the escapees in Jakarta, while on Tuesday they arrested two others at their homes, just hours after the group of 12 broke out of the Cempaka Putih subprecinct police station by sawing through the bars of their cell.

Three others remain at large, one of whom, identified only as Ocky, was believed to have masterminded the breakout by getting his wife to smuggle in the saws used to cut through the bars. Police said his wife had also gone on the run.
