@blightyboy...Why would you think that I was implying of the Indonesian health care to be above anywhere else. YOU choose to elaborate the criticism of the GENERAL local health care here. I find it laughable when a Western Anglo issue is brought up and a defensive overtone comes in play. I am not even a local Indonesian let alone defending the health care issue here. Please read again carefully of the posting made here instead of being too emotional.

From my previous experience here, I had a great health care service without waiting. And by the way, I am not talking from my grave and if you look around you Indonesians are still pretty much alive with their choice of healthcare services....

jetset24 - Sorry but what exactly are you saying? Is it that the medical facilities in Indonesia are better than in the UK? Because if that is what you are saying, you should think it through.

Medical facilities here might be OK in your opinion, but there are many, many, Indonesians who would like to disagree with you, but they cant, cos they are dead. The died because they could not afford and were refused hospital treatment, or they died by the side of the road with their life bleeding out into the gutter because there was no paramedic facility to save them, and the van stroke ambulance that turned up after an hour was not equipped with trained staff, or they were just wrongly diagnosed and treated by an incompetent doctor, who purchased his qualification rather than earned it.

Whilst the UK's National Health Service is plagued with problems, it still provides a service that is the envy of most countries around the World. Even an Indonesian tourist will be treated in emergency.

If Dani loses this, he's going to also lose on his popularity. He'll do ALL he can to avoid losing face with the people (fanatics). He plans to stand firm on this platform.

Please note that he's also allowed to practice polygamy as he does not fall under the category of 'civil servant.'

The most effective way is to remove him from his office. How does one do that? I truly do not know where lies the authority to do so, but surely there's a procedure for his removal?

The president perhaps? But...he does not have the ba*** to do so.

JPB... can you not see that you are supporting persecution of a peaceful minority? The SUPREME COURT ruled that their permit was LEGAL and that Bogor Admin should quote 'unseal the church immeaditaly' Dec 2010 quoted in multiple sources inc the SC website and here (HOW DIFFICULT IS THAT TO UNDERSTAND?) This man is inventing ways to extend the time & create violence using Islam as his tool. He has gone to extraordinary lengths to persecute them - At what cost & why?

What is it that makes you so blind to the facts or would you rather believe the hate? These are peaceful people who have the legal backing of the SUPREME COURT, it is also notable that the people who are protesting are NOT local to the church but are FPI/GARIS etc who are often not even from Bogor

If you think these are not the facts ask yourself why JG and other media outlets are not being sued by Dani

and others despite reporting them as such for 14 months? why? Because they are the FACTS...

The chief of Bogor’s public order agency says he has been named a police suspect for blocking people from praying outside the illegally sealed GKI Yasmin church last October.

“I was just doing my duty,” Bambang Budianto, head of the agency, known as Satpol PP, said on Friday in Bogor.

In violation of a 2010 Supreme Court order to open it, the Bogor administration has sealed off the church under the pretext that its congregation leaders doctored a petition to obtain the church’s building permit.

Since 2008, the congregation has been forced to hold Sunday services on the sidewalk outside the church or in the homes of parishioners, in the face of continued protests and intimidation by Islamic hard-line groups.

The church has been offered a new location and compensation, but so far has refused to move.

Bambang confirmed that he has been summoned by the West Java Police as a suspect for violating Article 175 of the Criminal Code on restricting people’s freedom of worship.

“I was summoned to come on Friday,” he said. “But it was delayed until Monday because I had an important meeting.”

While the Supreme Court’s ruling is clear, the government’s reluctance to enforce it has caused uncertainty over the status of GKI Yasmin.

Anti-church groups in Bogor have insisted on blocking worshippers from entering the church, prompting a series of violent clashes.

The first confrontation began in April 2010 when Satpol PP sealed off the church for the first time, and the second in October last year when officers blocked the congregation from praying on the sidewalk in front of the church.

The police are under pressure to balance their response after earlier naming church member Jayadi Damanik a suspect for an incident in October, during which Bambang was allegedly knocked unconscious in a confrontation with worshippers.

Jayadi has been charged with unpleasant conduct and assault, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.

Both sides reported each other to the police after the incident.

Bambang filed a complaint against Jayadi, saying he had attacked him, while the church reported Bambang to the police for twice obstructing its services.

Bogor Mayor Diani Budiarto has also been criticized for ignoring the Supreme Court order to lift the ban that he placed on the church in 2008. He insists there are indications the congregation falsified local residents’ signatures needed to obtain a construction permit for the church.

Earlier, the opposition Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) and civil society groups called for the central government to intervene in the dispute.

“All it takes is a little courage from the president and his ministers to take action against the mayor,” Indah Kurnia of the PDI-P said recently.

Indah said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono should see the case as a test that would determine the future of religious freedom in the country.
