Singapore’s Police Coast Guard will be presenting five coastal patrol crafts to the Indonesian Marine Police (Polair) in an official handover ceremony on Thursday.
The gifts mark the closer working ties that the two police agencies have pledged in an effort to enhance regional maritime security.
“Polair is one of our close partners and we are happy to further enhance regional maritime security and cooperation through the transfer of these five coastal patrol craft,” Police Coast Guard Commander Teo Kian Teck said.
The boats will be used by Polair to patrol Indonesian territorial waters, including areas between Indonesia and Singapore that are within these waters. This would help contribute to greater maritime security in the region.
Both the commissioner of the Singapore Police Force, Ng Joo Hee, and National Police Comms. Gen. Imam Sudjarwo will attend a signing ceremony to mark the close working relationship between the two agencies.
