Be the first to write your opinion!

We asked: Do you think that lawmakers have grown less or more corrupt  in recent years?

You replied:

How much money is an appointment as senior deputy governor of the central bank worth to be able to pay millions (of dollars) to get it! That high-ranking jobs in Indonesia (be they government positions on in the private sector) are being bought without any qualifications is old news. For example, to become just a simple officer in the police force already requires candidates to distribute quite a bit of money (later “refunded” by bribes). I guess it must be the same with the job of senior deputy governor of the central bank — but billions? And they all have their hands in this dirty game!

Just look at a recent survey in which the legislature took the top ranking as the most corrupt institution in the country. We know that, everyone knows that, but the question is what are we going to do about it?

Less or more does not matter. The thing is how can we trust our aspirations to representatives who are not only unclean but also seem to put other agendas besides working for the good of the people high up on their list of priorities Can’t we just get rid of these money-wasting politicians?
Hartina, Jakarta

Let’s keep on praying and hope for the good of men. And let these shameful men lose their own souls in hell, not later, but now, here in the prisons of earth.

We asked: Which areas should the government focus on as it tries to accelerate reforms?

You replied:

The informal sector. We have this area that can help the nation to grow, but the government is not helping it much. Not in terms of financial assistance, but rather in regulatory policies and bank access.
Sukria

Push for lower bank lending rates and increase the accessibility of loans.
