We asked: Do you agree with SBY chastising Australia for its advice against traveling to Indonesia?

You replied:

I may agree, but that is besides the point. SBY should have clearly known that the issuance of travel warnings falls completely within the authority of the country and that those warnings are not always strictly followed.

Anything to remind those Australians that they are not the creme de la creme, as they think they are, is good. Anon
He shouldn’t have bothered. Just look at the number of Australians visiting the country, especially Bali. If such travel warnings were effective, none of those visitors would have been in the country.
Yusnita, Jakarta

Was there a travel warning for India during the Mumbai attacks?
Peroblanco

The funny thing is the Australian government is now begging India to retract the warnings it issued to its students against studying in Australia after a spate of violence against Indian nationals in Melbourne. Poetic justice?
Artemus Jones

Travel warning or not, people are continuing to come.
Dewandaru

I agree with the president. Instead of issuing those silly warnings that nobody heeds anyway, the Australian government should do something more positive to prove it is really a friend.
Gancar

We asked: Is the government’s target for geothermal power generation overly ambitious?

You replied:

Nothing is too ambitious when talking about renewable, non-polluting energy.
Jaqueline Taniwa, Jakarta

We should be encouraging the government to develop non-oil and gas and coal alternatives to energy. They abound in this country and will not contribute to more pollution.
