We asked: What , if anything, do you expect to come out of today’s House hearing over the Bank Century inquiry?
You replied:
From our ‘respected’ lawmakers in the House special committee [Pansus]? Nothing of interest to the nation.
Larecerbon, Jakarta
A lot of wind.
Caroline R.
Nothing that I would care to read about if one judges from the disgusting antics they have shown so far.
Steve Liu
To be able to come out with anything credible, the special committee should have shown that they are credible. Nothing indicates this so far.

Although I do not have much hope about the results, I think that we should all respect what their conclusion is.
Yusnita
And then what? Do they have the power to prosecute? Will they be able to enforce the law? I don’t think so.
Gregorius M.
Does anyone care about what they will say? Politics at its worst is what this has been all about. This should not distract us from the important work we have to face, improving the welfare of the people.
Wiguna, Jakarta
Oh, how we love wasting time and money on trivial things.

We asked: Can the country exceed the projected 2010 economic growth rate of 5.5 percent?
You replied:
I certainly hope so. We have everything that we need to exceed the target, if only everyone is willing to work in the interest of the nation and put aside other interests.
Mandeep
If we stop the bickering on the political side, that would allow us to concentrate more on the things that matter. Things are OK here. The politics are bad.
