We asked: Do you think the KPU should follow or ignore the ruling of the Supreme Court?

You replied:

If the ruling can be ignored for 90 days, and the new legislature is to be sworn in at Day 76, then the KPU is within its rights to do so. However, in the interests of moving the country forward, what other excuse would they have not to abide by the decision? Choose to be inspiring, and let the technicality go.

Online Comments: Singapore Coroners’ Court Concludes Indonesian Student’s Death Was Suicide

What’s interesting is what the media from the two countries report on. The Singapore media (e.g. Today Online and Straits Times) points out evidence — stab wounds to the professor’s back, suicide note, etc. — that logically proves the death was not a murder. The Indonesian media (in general), on the other hand, plays to the angle that the Singapore courts may be unfair.

I can understand the anger and pain that David’s family are going through, but the rule of law must be maintained. The law allows David’s family to pursue the issue with an appeal to the Supreme Court of Singapore. Seeking justice in countries like Singapore can be very costly, but at least you can be assured that the rule of law will reign.

Mega Demands Showdown With SBY

Mega proves very clearly that she is not fit to be president, now or ever. No one in the international community believes that the election was unfair in any way; Hillary Clinton declared that Indonesia is a stable democracy. Radio France said Indonesia is the most stable democracy in Southeast Asia. The world approves of the recent election. The actions of a crazy old dingbat and her cronies and past partners in crime must not be allowed to destabilize the nation. Their actions prove that they are in it for themselves and not the people. SBY was the popular choice for a very good reason.
