Singapore. A red-crested cardinal which resembles the main character in the famous Angry Birds game app has hatched at Jurong Bird Park.
The world's biggest bird park welcomed its first red-crested cardinal hatchling at its Jungle Jewels aviary last month.
Park keepers noticed the chick, with its juvenile brown plumage, flying in the exhibit. Commonly found in northern Argentina, Bolivia, southern Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, the red-crested cardinal - also known as the Brazilian cardinal - is easily identified by its bright red head, crest and upper breast.
This latest addition is the offspring of the bird park's only pair, which have lived there since 2000, the park said in a statement on Wednesday.
