I look forward to her performing atop Monas and perhaps performing some outrageous antic, such as enveloping the large flame-topped erection.

Now you sound like pop-star fans.

International pop sensation Lady Gaga will hold her first concert in Jakarta, promoters confirmed on Tuesday morning.

“After much rumors and anticipation, Big Daddy Live Concerts is proud to announce the coming of Lady Gaga’s ‘The Born This Way Ball’ to Jakarta,” a news release obtained by the Jakarta Globe said.

The concert will be held at Gelora Bung Karno on June 3. Tickets will be on sale in Jakarta from March 10 to 11 starting at 10 a.m. at fX Lifestyle X’nter and www.myticket.co.id. Ticket prices range from Rp 465,000 to Rp 2.25 million ($51 to $245).

“The public demand and media response in Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Australia and New Zealand have been phenomenal and unprecedented,” the release said. “Demand has been so overwhelming that additional shows have had to be added in almost all cities. The Jakarta show marks the end of the Asian leg of the tour before Lady Gaga proceeds to Australia and New Zealand.”

Earlier this month, Lady Gaga released a list on her Twitter account of the first 11 cities on the Born This Way Ball tour, including several cities in Asia and Australia — but not Jakarta.

The Indonesian capital has long anticipated a concert from Mother Monster, as Lady Gaga is known among her fans. They were disappointed last year when she didn’t include Indonesia on her Asian tour, though she released a YouTube video around the same time saying she would be coming soon. Now she’s making good on that promise.

Microblogging site Twitter was abuzz when the news broke early in the morning, and her fans were excited, already wondering about the show and what kind of costumes the singer would wear.

“Lady Gaga can wear whatever she wants for the Jakarta concert,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “We’ve been seeing [Indonesian singer] Melly Goeslaw wearing space debris. We are mentally prepared.”

A few critical voices were also heard.

“Sorry, I don’t wanna waste my time and money watching copycat trash,” another Twitter user wrote.

With more than 23 million albums sold worldwide, the 25-year-old Lady Gaga is one of the most successful pop stars in the industry.

No stranger to controversy, she is as famous for her music as for her flamboyant, sometimes outrageous, fashion and her innovative live shows.

In anticipation of her world tour, Lady Gaga posted illustrations on her Twitter account in early February to show the stage design. It features a castle-like building and a runway that leads through the audience.

A few lucky fans might even have the chance to meet their idol in person.

“To give you a bit of insight on the design of my new tour, the central area within the stage will be known as ‘The Monster Pit,’ ” Lady Gaga wrote on Twitter. “Every night Haus of Gaga will choose fans from The Monster Pit to come back stage + meet me!”
