The Hong Kong International Film Festival plans to honor Indian screen legend Amitabh Bachchan with a lifetime achievement award at the event’s Asian Film Awards.

Organizers said in a statement late on Friday that the 67-year-old actor will accept the award in person at the annual prize ceremony on March 22.

Bachchan has appeared in more than 100 movies in a career spanning four decades. His recent credits include “The Last Lear,” “Sarkar Raj” and “Paa.’’

Festival director Shaw Soo Wei said Bachchan had left a mark on world cinema “with tremendous talent, a rigorous work ethic and an uncanny ability to reinvent himself.’’
