Garut Policeman Shot Five Times
An officer in Garut, West Java, was reportedly shot five times by an unidentified assailant on Monday evening. The officer, who was not identified, is currently receiving emergency treatment at the Garut General Hospital.
“One of my officers was shot on his way home at point-blank range and we are investigating the case,” Adjutant Chief Comr. Amur Chandra was quoted by news portal Detik.com as saying on Monday, adding that the incident occurred at Legok village.
Amur said the officer sustained two gunshot wounds on his chest, one on his hip and two in the back. “I have learned that without uttering a single word, the officer was shot. I have no idea if it was a case of mistaken identity or otherwise. We are investigating,” Amur was quoted as saying.
