Your information about EPL is out of date. Yesterday (saturday ) TPI, Global TV and Indovision all aired 4 EPL games. It is quite disgraceful that each year for the past few years the cable TV and other operators wait for the last minute to fix this problem up, surely they can get this done weeks before the start of the EPL season. Do these TV operators realizer that the only people who get disappointed are those they seek to satisfy. Seems like selfishness and greed now drive the EPL. TV and Cable TRV operators get your act together !

Indonesia. Football fans need to set aside their remote controls for a bit longer after the company believed to be the frontrunner to secure the local rights to broadcast the English Premier League said it was “still negotiating a deal.”

With the league opening on Saturday with a match pitting Tottenham Hotspur against Manchester City, it remained unclear which local television station would carry the EPL games.

The Jakarta Globe learned that Indovision and sister companies Global and TPI had the inside track but a company official said no deal had been made.

Indovision, Global and TPI are under umbrella company Media Nusantara Citra. Another bidder is Yes TV, owned by Telkomvision.

Winnie Sularto, Indovision’s public relations manager, reiterated that the company was still ironing out details with the holder of the broadcast rights, ESPNStar Sports.

“We can’t confirm anything,” Winnie said late on Friday. “We hope we can secure the rights for more than one season. It’s a tough one, but I hope we can bring the EPL matches to our subscribers on time.”

Last season, Indovision shared the broadcast rights with YesTV, but the fight went right down to the wire, with viewers in the dark right until just hours before the first game.

It has been reported that ESS put a price tag of $5 million on last season’s EPL rights, but there has been speculation that the price for this season has doubled to $10 million.

Winnie said on Thursday that the rights would cost more this time around but gave no details.

Unlike last year, no terrestrial, or free-to-air, TV stations appear to be interested in carrying the EPL matches.

TVOne, which regularly carried EPL games last season, said it preferred to focus on the Spanish Primera. It will air six matches each weekend.
