"We are not worried if anyone other than Pak SBY is linked to corruption cases,”

Well, it says it all, doesn't it.

I think Indonesia must have the stupidest politicians in the world. Apart from Italy. Italy has a Minister of Finance. Well, I ask you!

And perhaps Switzerland. I think they have a Minister for the Navy.(No, they don't. That's just a joke I made up.) But if they DID have one - Ramhadan Pohan ought to apply for the job. He has demonstrated by his staggering intellectual comment here that he has the right sort of qualifications and outlook to be the Minister of the Navy for a landlocked country.

Would it occur to him that NO ONE in the Democratic Party should be corrupt?

And as for saying - well so long as good old SBY is not corrupt....

I am just curious as to why he feels the need to say that in the first place.

I am seriously wondering why Ranadhan Pohan had to say this.....

....so long as Pak SBY stays clean, then we ill claim back our position..."

Would it not be more positive if he had said....

"Pak SBY is clean and we will regain our position"

The joke is on the DEMs because they still dont get it... They fail to understand that its not all about coruption but rather SBY choices for a cabinet lineup which is a reflection on his ability to lead. SBY had many opportunity to fix it with the entire population of indonesia demanding it, to which he ignored it.

Society is fed up on how they handel every single matter and most of all the delayed time to respond to anything. When they do respond the result is far below acceptable.

SBY will go down as the worst president ever.

Oh and has SBY helped solve the Tama issue and Police generals accounts to list a few?

Interesting but unsuprising statement.

Clearly then SBY is in no way responsible for the lack of ethics within his party. Honestly, does nothing ever lead to the top of the tree in Indonesia?

Anyone with a brain would think that SBY is ultimately accountable for the actions and image of his government. it's obvious that the democratic party isn't suffering because of a few 'rogue' members but a lack of leadership and a corrupt culture within.

As long as President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is not tainted with corruption case, the Democratic Party will re-emerge and reclaim its position as the country’s No. 1 party, members said on Tuesday.

Party deputy secretary general Ramadhan Pohan said the Democrats would experience a revival by the end of the year.

The party has been hit by several corruption allegations, in which a number of its high-ranking officials have been declared a suspects.

“We are still optimistic. We are not worried if anyone other than Pak SBY is linked to corruption cases,” Ramadhan said. The president is the party’s chief of patrons.

“So long as Pak SBY stays clean then we will claim back our position,” he added.

Senior Democratic lawmaker Hayono Isman shared the optimism, insisting that most people still loved Yudhoyono.

During the last several months, news media have carried headlines speculating on the involvement of some of the party’s members in a graft case surrounding the construction of the Southeast Asian Games athletes’ village in Palembang.

The scandal has threatened to weaken the Democrats’ prospects in the 2014 elections, with a series of surveys indicating that support for the party was falling amid a flurry of negative headlines about its links to the graft scandal.

A survey by the Indonesia Survey Circle (LSI) published on Sunday showed that the party had fallen to third place behind the Golkar Party and the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) after leading since 2009.
