Wales flanker Andy Powell has been banned from driving for 15 months after he admitted taking a golf cart along a freeway after he had been drinking.
Powell was arrested after driving along the shoulder of a freeway towards a service station the morning after he played in Wales’ epic comeback win over Scotland in the Six Nations on Feb. 13. He told police he was going in search of food. The 28-year-old Powell has since been dropped by Wales.
Powell pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while over the alcohol limit, was fined 1,000 pounds ($1,500) and ordered to undergo drunk-driving rehabilitation course.
