Russia’s embattled sports minister came under new pressure on Monday after an investigation into the Vancouver Olympics found that he had paid for five breakfasts each day at a luxury hotel during the Games.

The federal audit chamber said Russia spent $200 million for the Winter Olympics, which reaped a mere three gold medals.

But most embarrassing were the revelations over the expenses of Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko, who stayed at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver for 20 days in a suite that cost $1,400 per night.

The report pointed out that the maximum amount allotted for officials’ expenses in Canada was $130 a day.
