No. 8 Iowa’s 13-game winning streak was ended by Northwestern 17-10 on Saturday.
Dan Persa threw a touchdown pass and Marshall Thomas recovered a fumble for another score for Northwestern’s first win over a top-10 opponent since 2004.
In Gainesville, Florida, No. 1 Florida extended its winning streak to 19 games overall but gave a luckluster effort in a 27-3 defeat of Vanderbilt. Tim Tebow accounted for two touchdowns.
In Austin, Texas, Jordan Shipley set a Texas record with 273 yards receiving, including an 88-yard touchdown as No. 2 Texas shook off a slow start to win 35-3. Central Florida managed just 151 total yards.
In Tuscaloosa, Alabama, No. 3 Alabama picked up another dramatic win, beating No. 9 LSU to earn a second straight trip to the SEC championship game against Florida. Julio Jones caught a 73-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter and Leigh Tiffin booted a 40-yard field goal with 3:04 left to seal it.
In Cincinnati, Zach Collaros, starting his third game in place of the injured Tony Pike, threw for 480 yards and a touchdown, ran for two more scores and led No. 4 Cincinnati on a clinching touchdown drive in the closing minutes of a 47-45 victory over Connecticut.
In San Diego, Andy Dalton threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more as No. 6 TCU won its 11th in a row, beating San Diego State 55-12 to remain in the chase for a BCS bowl berth and stay undefeated.
In Stanford, California, Toby Gerhart bowled over the Oregon defense to make Stanford bowl eligible for the first time in eight years. Gerhart ran for a school-record 223 yards and three scores as Stanford held on for its sixth win of the season, beating No. 7 Oregon 51-42.
In Atlanta, Josh Nesbitt scored on a 3-yard run in overtime, a play after No. 10 Georgia Tech pulled off a gutsy call on fourth down, leading it to a 30-27 defeat of Wake Forest.
In Tempe, Arizona, Will Harris returned an interception 55 yards for a score and Matt Barkley threw a 75-yard pass to Damian Williams as No. 12 USC held on for a 14-9 victory over Arizona State.
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, Matt Hogan kicked a 51-yard field goal as time expired, finishing off another thrilling Houston comeback as the 13th-ranked Cougars beat Tulsa 46-45.
In Pittsburgh, Greg Williams’s 51-yard interception return for a touchdown late in the first half got No. 14 Pittsburgh going in a 37-10 defeat of Syracuse.
In State College, Pennsylvania, No. 15 Ohio State regained control of the Big Ten title race when Terrelle Pryor threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in a 24-7 victory at No. 11 Penn State.
In Miami, Graig Cooper rushed for a career-best 152 yards and a touchdown, and Damien Berry ran for a pair of second-half scores as No. 16 Miami routed Virginia 52-17.
In Salt Lake City, Jordan Wynn passed for 297 yards and two touchdowns in his first college start as No. 17 Utah beat New Mexico 45-14, the Lobos’ 13th consecutive loss.
In Ames, Iowa, Keith Toston ran for a career-high 206 yards and three touchdowns as No. 18 Oklahoma State beat Iowa State 34-8.
In South Bend, Indiana, Navy’s Craig Schaefer sacked Jimmy Clausen in the end zone with 60 seconds left for Navy to beat No. 19 Notre Dame 23-21.
In Lincoln, Nebraska, Matt O’Hanlon had three of Nebraska’s five interceptions against Oklahoma’s Landry Jones in a 10-3 Nebraska victory. The 20th-ranked Sooners failed to score a touchdown for the first time since a loss to Texas A&M in 1998.
In Tucson, Arizona, Travis Cobb returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown to set the tone for No. 21 Arizona, which beat Washington State 48-7.
In Berkeley, California, Sean Canfield threw for 342 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score in Oregon State’s 31-14 win at No. 23 California.
In Bloomington, Indiana, John Clay ran for 134 yards and a touchdown as No. 24 Wisconsin held off Indiana to win 31-28.
