Swim Federation OKs Controversial Suits
The International Swimming Federation has approved the line of new suits designed by Jaked, the Italian manufacturer said on Thursday.
Jaked was involved in a controversy ahead of last year’s World Championships in Rome when their suits, being worn to win a raft of world records, were deemed illegal and barred from competition. The controversy provoked the federation, known as FINA, to introduce new regulations regarding the type of suits athletes could wear, which now include those by Jaked.
“The costumes ... are made with materials that produce unique characteristics which, together, produce extraordinary results,” Jaked president Francesco Fabbrica said. AFP
